Course Overview

The Drone Operations Certificate combines two focused courses that build both unmanned aircraft knowledge and the aviation foundation needed for stronger FAA Part 107 readiness.

AV3124 — Unmanned Aircraft Systems
The primary course in the certificate, covering UAS operations, FAA Part 107 regulations, safety, maintenance, loading and performance, night operations, and exam preparation.

AV2101 — Private Pilot Aviation Principles
Students complete the Part 107-relevant modules of this course, including airspace, sectional charts, weather, communications, airport operations, performance, human factors, and aeronautical decision-making.

Together, the two courses give students a practical understanding of how professional drone operations fit within the broader aviation environment.

Part 107 Preparation

The certificate is built around the knowledge areas covered on the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot knowledge test.

Students prepare through practice questions, mock exams, and scenario-based review covering:

  • FAA regulations
  • Airspace and sectional charts
  • Aviation weather
  • Airspace authorization scenarios
  • Loading and performance
  • Night operations
  • Safety and operational decision-making

The program concludes with an end-of-course assessment designed to help students measure their readiness before taking the FAA Part 107 knowledge test.

The Learning Institute is not under the scope of ACCSC accreditation.
