Better starts here

Students come to Academy College from diverse backgrounds — recent high school graduates, adult learners, military veterans, transfer students, and international applicants. Review our requirements to start your journey toward a new career.

Applicants must demonstrate their preparedness for college-level study.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA (high school or post-secondary)
  • Students with a GPA below 2.0 may take the Academy College Admissions Exam (must score in the 70th percentile or higher)
  • In rare cases where transcripts cannot be provided (e.g., records lost due to fire or flood, verified through a state agency), students may substitute a standardized admissions exam

All applicants must complete the enrollment process before beginning classes.

  • Submit the admission application and application fee.
  • Schedule an admissions appointment (on campus or virtual).
  • Provide official transcripts (high school and/or college).
  • Meet with the financial aid office.
  • Complete your enrollment agreement, FERPA disclosure, and immunization document.

Learn more about completing your application on our how to apply page.

Students who attended accredited institutions may be eligible to transfer credits.

  • The school is recognized by a U.S. Department of Education-approved accrediting agency.
  • Grades of “C” or higher required for transfer.
  • International transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated by AICE, NACES, or TEC.

For additional details, visit our transfer students page.

All students (except those enrolling in the Aircraft Dispatcher program) must complete and pass a Distance Education Readiness Assessment before attending class.

Required immunizations include:

  • Measles, mumps, and rubella (after 15 months of age)
  • Diphtheria and tetanus (within the past 10 years)

Commercial pilot training students must meet additional requirements.

  • 18 years or older to begin and 21 years old at the time of commercial pilot certification.
  • Passing an FAA Second Class Medical Exam (First Class strongly recommended).
  • Demonstrate English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
  • U.S. citizens must provide a valid passport or government-issued birth certificate with ID.
  • Non-U.S. citizens must provide proof of lawful status and obtain TSA approval for flight training.

Learn more on our commercial pilot program page.

Applicants must meet program-specific requirements.

  • 21 years of age or older
