At Academy College, we’ll work as hard as you do to help achieve your graduation goal, and provide valuable resources every step of the way. Our professional faculty and staff will offer instructional tutoring, course study sessions, computer user training, keyboard training, online training and continued program guidance. As an Academy College student, you are provided with the necessary accommodations and small classroom settings to ensure your daily, weekly and monthly program success.

Tuition-Free Courses

We are aware that tuition charges can limit a student’s course selection and program completion goals. Therefore, we are pleased to offer students the benefit of tuition-free courses. All Academy College students registered for a minimum of 16 credit hours will be eligible to select one additional course, per quarter, free of tuition charges.

Attendance Recognition Program

The Academy College faculty and administration recognize that maintaining good attendance in class is vital to student success. It has been consistently proven that excellent attendance leads to improved class performance and course outcomes. Therefore, we honor highly dedicated students through the Perfect Attendance Recognition Program, which acknowledges and rewards punctual and perfect attendance on a quarterly basis. At the conclusion of the quarter, those students who have met the requirements will be eligible for a gift card drawing.

Laptop Program

Academy College is pleased to announce our Laptop Computer Program, which brings technology-rich tools and resources into the classroom to aid instructors in deepening the learning experiences of their students. We’re confident this laptop initiative will better prepare students for a future increasingly defined by computer technology!

Students are allowed the flexibility of purchasing a laptop through our bookstore or bringing their personal laptop from home. Please note that all laptops used on campus must meet the required specifications detailed below.

All Laptops should have the following:

• One or more USB slots
• Wireless G or N capability
• Windows 7 (64 bit version)
• DVD/CD drive for loading programs (CD “Only” drives are no longer supported)
• Standard RJ45 LAN port for hardwired networking
• Working battery and Power supply as classes will run longer than most systems can retain a charge
• Standard keyboard
• Mouse, track pad or other pointing device
• Screen 14-16”
• 64 bit Dual or Quad core Processor E7500 or higher (market mid-range or higher)
• 4 GB ram or better
• 250 GB hard drive

Each quarter, our bookstore secures a competitive price (based on best value, warranty and service) on recommended Academy College laptops, and makes them available to students for purchase.

Scholarship Program

Because we understand that achieving your career goals requires an investment of your time and finances, Academy College provides three types of opportunities for prospective and current students to earn a college scholarship:

High School Ace Award: Benefits High School Seniors that are interested in or enrolled for a future quarter at Academy College. To qualify for the High School Ace Award, you must submit a completed scholarship application by the annual deadline, provide a high school transcript, and submit a typed, 300-word essay entitled, “My Career and Personal Development Goals” – or create a portfolio highlighting involvement and achievements in the areas of career interest, school activities and community service. Two award winners will be selected.

Academy College Scholarship: Provides current Academy College students with the opportunity to earn scholarship funds. To qualify, you must submit a completed scholarship application by the annual deadline and sit for the scholarship exam conducted on campus. Four award winners will be selected based on the exam outcome.

Aspiring Ace Award: Provides potential students of Academy College the opportunity to earn scholarship funds. To qualify, you must submit a completed scholarship application by the annual deadline and sit for the scholarship exam conducted on campus. Four award winners will be selected based on the exam outcome.

Tutoring Services

Whether your quarterly goal is to successfully pass a challenging course or maintain a 4.0 GPA, our team of academic leaders is here to assist you. Academy College offers free tutoring services, provided by program experts, in a one-on-one or group format.  We invite you to take advantage of this valuable academic resource on your road to success!

Computer User Training

Concerned about your limited computer skills? No worries…Academy College offers weekly computer user labs, free of charge. We’ll provide you with ongoing MSOffice and online user training at your own pace. You can attend on a short-term basis or throughout the length of your program. Whatever your needs, we’re here for you.

Keyboard Training

Strong keyboarding skills are more important than ever in today’s competitive job market.  Whatever your career path, employees of today are expected to possess both keyboarding speed and accuracy, and Academy College is prepared to help you meet those demands. Keyboarding labs are offered throughout the week, in both individual and group instruction. The keyboarding lab is also available during open campus hours for those students that prefer to practice on their own. Either method of training will ensure that you, as an Academy College graduate, are ready to enter the workforce with confidence.

Professional Development Labs

We believe today’s job market requires exceptional professional and career search skills…skills that require long-term opportunities for growth.  Thus, we’ve created a unique offering with our free Professional Development Lab series. Academy College Professional Development Labs help students understand how interactions at work will impact them, highlight some of the issues they’ll face, and offer tips for becoming more effective in their interactions with others – in any organizational setting. The labs also focus on resume development and job search skills and competencies. So we’ll not only help you secure your job, but also show you how to take charge and stand out among your peers!
